What you can do Inside
For regular, general pest control including cockroaches, spiders, ants, silverfish, rats and mice, bees and wasps, fleas and ticks, you can take these actions:
- Take as many things off the floor as possible
- In the kitchen, pack away everything possible, or cover over if not able to be moved
- Remove pet food and water bowls, and if you can, send them elsewhere for the day
- Pack away anything that might end up in little mouths
Inside treatments only take 30 minutes to dry, so if you’re planning to be out, a maximum of two hours is more than adequate.
Prepare for external treatments
What you can do in the yard
For exterior flea and tick treatments, we use an emulsifier concentrate so the mixture will soak well into the grass and soil. You can get the maximum benefit from the treatment by:
- Mowing the grass before we get there
- Pre-wetting the soil and grass that day

What you can do after our visit
After application you can get the best from your treatment by:
- Not mopping the floors for five days wherever possible
- Outside, avoid using sprinklers and hoses on grass and soil for 2-3 days and don’t wash down the walls for at least 2-3 days
